Residential Drainage System

DRAIN CORE creates an air void so water/snow/urine can be washed down through the synthetic turf to avoid saturation of the synthetic turf.

 

It also creates a channel to convey the rain water directly to drains. Drain Core consists of a polymeric sheet shaped under heat and pressure to form a high flow, highly compressed strength dimpled drainage core. The core is available as an impermeable sheet or punched, based on application. Impermeable core works well on deck, patios, rooftops and around pools surfaces. Punched core allows liquids to flow through to ground surfaces below.

Designated for areas where maximum drainage and all-weather use is imperative, this cellular ½-inch drainage mats are installed directly under the turf. The drain core system can collect and transport as much as 16 gallons per minute.

Drain Core is great for applications where the synthetic turf is being installed over concrete. Once the Drain Core is installed, cut and place the turf as you would for normal installations. The edges need to be secured properly to ensure lifting.

Why chance for contaminates to penetrate the concretes surface and linger around? Placing Drain Core will allow fluids to be flushed and exited the surface as per the sloped area. Drain Core is designed to replace perforated pipe and stone drainage systems in various applications. It provides a significantly higher flow rate as well as increased ease of handling and installation.

Vertical Drainage:

The vertical flow rate of an individual UBS panel without turf is equivalent to 1,582" per hr (4018 cm/hr).

The horizontal flow rate of rainwater exiting from under an individual UBS panel = 126" per hr (320 cm/hr).

 

Storage Capacity:

Each UBS panel has the ability to store the equivalent of 1.85 gallons (7 L) of water in the underside cellular structure.

 

GMAX:

GMAX rating of 137 achieved with no turf layer. Values ranging from 85-120 depending upon turf systems and sub base.

Energy Restitution:

The UBS Standard panel is designed to be part of a system consisting of most combinations of 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) turf or longer. When combined with a properly filled turf system UBS Champion will pass the FIFA 2* requirements on shock absorption, energy restitution and vertical deformation.

Load Capacity:

Static load capacity for the weakest location of the panel is equivalent to 374 psi (26.3 kgf/cm2) at 70ºF (21ºC). Load values when placed over a full descending cellular rib 998 psi (70.17 kgf/cm2).

 

Shear Resistance:

UBS patented turf barbs provide 3 x the grip strength for turf stability as compared to a rock base.

 

Expansion:

IBT patented locking feature allows adequate expansion between panels to prevent panel distortion when properly installed. Expected expansion per panel at 140F degrees (60C) is 3/32” (.24 cm)
